Thumbnail, Banner and Background

When setting up your Main Street Vintage seller account and store you will be asked to supply a thumbnail, banner and background graphic. Alternately, you can select an internal background from fifteen offered during your store setup, accept the internal thumbnail, and use your store name in place of a banner. The internal thumbnail image looks like this:

If you wish to use your own graphics for these three items, the following points present the necessary details:

A thumnail image (so called because of its small size) is used on the home page in the Today's Featured Sellers selection and on the shopping page for your store entry. The thumbnail graphic should be a square, 96 pixels on each side. It should represent you, your business and your store. A simple design is usually best.

Here is an example used by one seller:
If you provide a thumbnail that is a different size it will be forced to the correct dimensions. If it is smaller or not a square, it may be distorted.
You may also want your own background graphic. Any graphic can be used, but the smaller it is in both pixel dimensions and byte size the better. The graphic is loaded once and then tiled across the background of the page. It forms an outer "frame" area for both your store and your listings. The best examples tile seemlessly in a continuous pattern.

A store banner is not required but it makes a nice personal touch to your store page. If you do not provide one, your store name is used in its place in a larger text. A store banner can be any size or shape but a horizontal rectangle is best. A size of 720 x 120 pixels is ideal.
